Handbell Choir
The Morningside Handbell Choir formed in 2009, established by James Klotz using a four-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and a three-octave set of Malmark chimes donated by Donnamae Klotz Rost and Nancy Klotz Bennett. Under the direction of member and elder Jeff Peters, the choir rings several times yearly during worship services.
Both experienced and novice ringers make up MPC's handbell choir, and experience is not required to join. Handbells offer an excellent opportunity to learn to read music and improve musicality. Regular rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings (you can always confirm timing by checking the Events page), and anyone interested in learning to play the bells and chimes should contact Jeff Peters. Openings are available for regular and substitute ringers.
